What this is
People send us a description of a job. We work out which trade it needs and who is right for it, and we pass it to one person. If that is you, you get a name, a location, a description and usually a photo, and the client is expecting to hear from you.
What you do not get is a lead sold to four people, a bidding page, or a client who has already been called by three others and is annoyed about it.
The terms, in full
The arrangement is deliberately thin. You are an independent professional; this is a phone number that occasionally rings with something useful. We do not employ you, represent you, insure you or supervise your work, and we do not tell clients that we have vetted you — because we have not, and saying otherwise would be a lie that lands on you when something goes wrong.
What we ask
- Say no quickly. A fast "not my thing" or "booked until the 20th" is worth more than a maybe. The client can be moved on the same day.
- Turn up when you said. Or ring and say you cannot. Almost every complaint we hear is about silence, not about workmanship.
- Be straight about what you do not do. Nobody does everything. Telling us your actual edges means you get sent the right things and not the wrong ones.
- Keep your own paperwork in order. Licences, insurance and tax are yours. Clients increasingly ask, and we tell them they should.
Add yourself
Short form. A person reads it and will usually ring you rather than email.
